Four-year-old Tolga was in desperate need of a heart transplant. Demirel stepped in; universities and the military staff also got involved and Tolga was saved.

Action was first taken when a father from Isparta took his son Tolga to Demirel's house on Güniz street. Tolga had heart disease as well as a lung infection. Süleyman Demirel interrupted his breakfast and called Başkent Hospital immediately.

Four-year-old Tolga needed a heart transplant. Demirel stepped in; universities and the military staff got involved and Tolga was saved.

The young boy's name is Tolga Kesen; his father's name is Ali. He was born in Isparta, Süleyman Demirel's hometown. The kid was sick and he needed a heart transplant; however, a suitable match was unable to be found. The desperate parents of the child went to Süleyman Demirel to ask for help. Demirel responded to the cry for help and called Professor Dr. Mehmet Haberal and had the child sent to the hospital. Tolga was hospitalized at Başkent Hospital for a few weeks. He overcame the lung infection; however he was still waiting on a suitable heart could not be found. Then, he was sent to his hometown, Isparta. A few weeks later, Demirel was informed that a suitable heart was found. Finally the story reached a happy ending; little Tolga has gotten his health back and went to see Süleyman Demirel once again to thank him for all that he did.
