Referring to the criticism of the allowing of permission to build up to five-story buildings in Bodrum, Günay stated: "we did not allow permission for additional upper floors; instead we limited the number of ground floors allowed to be built." Minister of Culture and Tourism, Ertuğrul Günay, responded to the criticism regarding the issuing of permission for the construction of five-story buildings in Bodrum: "we put a limit on the number of basement ground floors allowed to be built. We stated that their can be a maximum of two basement floors built. It is not possible to issue permission for additional levels above the ground. I received the information that these amendments are being made in order to prevent limitless construction. The decision is aimed at protecting the region. We can change the decision if it is necessary. It is not possible to increase the number of floors during the duration period of my ministry." |
