Erdoğan: Politics and the military should not interfere with one another
10.03.2008
Prime Minister Erdoğan responded to the criticisms of the opposition about the land operation: "leave the military's issuesto the military."
Prime Minister Erdoğan put an end to the debates on the cross border land operation. Erdoğan stated: "we keep saying that military staff should not interfere with politics; but politicians should also not interfere with the military's issues. It is not possible to put an end to terrorism with a cross border operation. Psychological and cultural measurements should be taken. Why didn't you finish this issue of terrorism while you were the ruling party? Couldn't you find Kandil on the map? Or did you go there in 1995 and 2000; but we do not know about it?"
