The third wave of arrests in the probe into the February 28th postmodern coup conducted by Ankara's Special Authority Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor took place yesterday. In raids conducted in Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir and Kars, thirteen military members were arrested, seven of which are currently on active duty.
A number of significant military figures were detained in yesterday's wave of arrests including Brigadier General Lokman Ekinci who was the Commander of the Mobilization Investigation Department which is popularly referred to as the 'cosmic room', known for being the source of the documents to have allegedly come from the Western Study Group. Another serving general who was detained yesterday was Brigadier General İsmail Hakkı Önder, the head of the Land Forces Command's Logistic Services Department. Yesterday's arrests also included former gendarmerie commander retired General Fevzi Türkeri who also served as the Chair of the General Staff Intelligence Department and former Lieutenant General Yıldırım Türker.
RAIDS IN FOUR PROVINCES
Searches began yesterday morning at 08:30 on 12 different addresses, six of which were in Ankara, two in Istanbul, three in Izmir and one location in Kars. Warrants had been issued to detain the suspects in the February 28th probe by Ankara's Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor. The former military members detained in yesterday's raids are as follows: Ankara: Retired General Fevzi Türkeri, Retired Lieutenant General Yıldırım Türker, Brigadier General Lokman Ekinci, Brigadier General İsmail Hakkı Önder, Colonel Yahya Kemal Yakışkan, Retired Retired Sergeant Şeref Kavalalı Izmir: Colonel Mustafa Köseoğlu, Colonel Mehmet Haşimoğlu, Retired Colonel Cemal Hakan Pelit Istanbul: Colonel Atilla Kurtay, Retired Colonel Mehmet Aygüner, Retired Yüzbaşı Tanju Sirmen Kars: Sergeant Adem Demir
TÜRKERİ IS FIRST IN LINE
According to information obtained by SABAH, special authority prosecutors compiled a list of suspects from testimonies and documents obtained in two subsequent raids in connection to the probe. One of the most noteworthy figures detained yesterday was Retired General Fevzi Türkeri who as Brigadier General served as the General Staff Intelligence Counteraction and Security Department Director and later as Full General served as General Staff Chief of Intelligence. Another individual of note detained yesterday was the former Personnel Department Chair Retired Lieutenant General Yıldırım Türker. In addition to providing briefings to members of the press during the February 28th period, Türker was also responsible for preparing reports, tagging individuals and tapping for the Western Study Group.
Türker will be facing questioning regarding allegations he had television series scripted in an attempt to exert psychological influence.
Raids into the homes of active-duty officers were conducted by the Ankara Central Command who were accompanied by police officers. Out of the seven serving military members detained yesterday, three were from Ankara, two were from Izmir and one was from Kars. They were later handed over to the Ankara Central Command. The total number of arrests thus far in the February 28th probe has now reached 55, including the first wave of 31 arrests and the second wave of 11 arrests.
TÜRKERİ DETAINED IN ANKARA
The home of retired Full General Fevzi Türkeri was searched yesterday in Ankara. After undergoing a medical check-up, Türkeri was taken into custody. Retired Lieutenant General Yıldırım Türker was also brought into the police department after undergoing a medical check.
HEAD OF OYAK
On April 6th, OYAK Chairman of the Executive Board retired Lieutenant General Yıldırım Türker handed over the keys to the first electric automobile to be manufactured in Turkey, the Renault Fluence, which he donated to the Prime Ministry.
The ‘innocent’ protest which began at the start of the month in Brazil, as it did as well in Turkey, has since transitioned into a point of interest for its dark demonstrations. Both nations, as they suffer from simultaneous protests, stand out for having bright and promising economies.
Responding to the European Parliament resolution condemning the police crackdown on protests sparked by redevelopment plans for Gezi Park, Prime Minister Erdoğan stated “They are confused. They have no fidelity,” and added that European politicians and institutions instantly laid down their masks in order to provoke events. 
One man’s passive defiance by way of standing in place in Taksim Square and looking straight at the Atatürk Culture Center, quickly turned into a social media phenomenon last night. 
Infuriating Germans, Green Party Co-Chair Roth was subjected to pepper spray in Istanbul. Commenting on the incident, German nationals say, “It turns out Erdoğan was right in saying that there are foreign forces triggering Taksim, and Roth’s presence is now proof.” Other comments include, “If Abdullah Gül showed up at Occupy Frankfurt of if Erdoğan was involved in the Stuttgart 21 demonstrations, the ground would shake!”
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has been working continuously since last night on clearing and landscaping Taksim Square and Gezi Park. 
Explaining that the Gezi Park protests were planned six months ago, EU Minister Bağış states, “These protests are an attempt to trigger a move which will end in regime change in Turkey.” Bağış also discussed Prime Minister Erdoğan’s style with the Wall Street Journal. 
They came by land, they came by sea, and they came to hear their Prime Minister speak. Yesterday’s Kazlıçeşme rally in support of Prime Minister Erdoğan saw over a million supporters come out to the square with AK Party and Turkish flags in hand, giving true sentiment to the figures of Erdoğan’s support rate. 
Istanbul Governor Mutlu is calling on protesters to refrain from responding to calls on social media to gather in Taksim because he says; peace has been established once again in Istanbul. 
Nearly a million Istanbul residents flocked out to see Prime Minister Erdoğan speak at an AK Party rally in Kazlıçeşme on Sunday. Istanbul residents want the vandalism of protesters destroying and setting the city on fire to come to an end as soon as possible. Meanwhile, they also support Erdoğan’s referendum proposal.
On the first presidential visit to Ardahan in 18 years, President Gül had the chance to comment on the European Parliament’s resolution vote on Thursday by stating, “When reacting they need to have enough information to realize what is what.”
The number one suspect accused of planning and staging the twin bombings in the Hatay town of Reyhanlı, which killed 52 people, Nasır Eskiocak as well as three other perpetrators were arrested on Friday. 
Istanbul Governor Mutlu held discussions with protesters which started late Thursday night and went on into the early morning hours of Friday. There was no lapse in respect during the talks that were both peaceful and spirited. The main questioned asked was who ordered the use of disproportionate force. 
After deliberations between Prime Minister Erdoğan and other government officials with a delegation representing the Gezi Park protesters which went on into the morning hours of Friday, a decision was reached to respect judicial rulings and citizens’ opinions. Bringing the Gezi Park protests to a close with a series of artistic events is also now on the agenda.
Foreign Minister Davutoğlu says the European Parliament resolution adopted on Thursday is unacceptable and should they notify Turkey of the resolution, then Turkey will instantly return the gesture.
