Reminding that they will be appointing 40,000 teachers towards the end of August, Minister of Education Ömer Dinçer recently made a number of announcements regarding the increase of appointments for teachers due to the new curriculum system.
"This year, our government will be appointing the highest number of teaching staff to date. A pamphlet detailing the guidelines for the 40,000 teacher appointments will also be released. We will most likely begin hiring within the month of August.
(Which branches will have the most appointments?) We will be beginning a new study to determine which branches are in most need after we complete the regulations in connection to the inclusion of elective courses in the 4+4+4 system. We will most likely be completed with that as well by the start of August.
(Teachers for elective courses, such as Kurdish) We will not be conducting the appointments for this next period from the main headquarters. We will be determining appointments on a local level. We will be establishing which teachers will take on which class and what sort of qualifications they will need. Local administrations, such as the governorship, and provincial and district national education departments will be in charge of making decisions in regards to fulfilling local needs."
