Football's European organizing body UEFA is looking into suspicious betting at a Champions League match between Schalke 04 and Hapoel Tel Aviv, a German report said Saturday.

Sueddeutsche Zeitung said UEFA had been given a dossier "from the betting scene" on betting patterns and a significantly high volume of bets placed in Asia on the match in Gelsenkirchen on October 20 which the German side won 3-1.

UEFA made no immediate comment on the report.

Schalke coach Felix Magath said at the team's training camp at Belek, Turkey it was the first he had heard of it.

"If you have beaten Olympique Lyon 3-0, a 3-1 home victory against an opponent from Israel is not unusual without there immediately being a suspicion of manipulation," he said.
