During an exclusive interview with Anadolu Agency, Hamas Political Bureau Chief Halit Meshal shared their view that the Arab Spring is a turning point in history for Muslims and delivered the following messages:
The Arab Spring is the result of the public making its own decisions. This also closely involves us. We believe that the Arab Spring is a turning point in Muslim history. This transformation in our religious community will also positively affect the Palestinian cause. When the Arab community achieves their independence, they will be able to stand stronger against Zionist policies and offer further support to the Palestinian cause.
It is not Palestine's choice to be divided. Peace is inevitable. To be reconciling does not mean that we share the same views. However together we can stand up against a Zionist Israel. We must all make sacrifices from our personal and political views for Palestine's advantage.
The true Palestinian state, will only be realized once the Palestinian land has been rescued. We are not against the founding of the Palestinian state; we just need to ensure we are aware that this is not the ultimate goal.
Isolating Israel in the international community is one of our stances, however it is not enough. We need to show resistance. If we look back into history, you will see that the enemy will not abandon the land they have occupied without the use of force.
Turkey is one of the leading nations in the region. In regards to the Palestine issue, Turkey has an original and very unique position. We will never forget the Mavi Marmara. We will never forget the courageous stance taken by Turkish leaders at certain times. Turkey also exerts significant effort in regards to Palestine's internal reconciliation. Turkey is an expert when it comes to Islamic and Arab nations and also has very strong ties with the West. We place high importance on our relations.
