U.S. Secretary of State Clinton will be attending the second meeting of the Global Counter-Terrorism Forum held in Istanbul on Thursday. Clinton will be joined by mainly foreign affairs minister representatives from member nations including Italy, Germany, France as well as a number of Arab nations. According to diplomatic sources, an unofficial meeting was held last night to discuss the situation in Syria.
Today's meeting marks the second held by the Global Counter-Terrorism Forum's highest ruling organ, the Coordination Committee. The forum which is made up of the European Union and 29 other nation members provides a platform for the prevention of all forms of terrorism.
After the meeting, Foreign Affairs Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and Clinton will be holding a joint press conference.
