‘VAV’ SELLS FOR 425,000 LIRAS

A masterpiece painting made in 1984 by entitled ‘’, which contains elements reflecting the Islamic philosophy school of thought, has sold for 425,000 liras.

Painter , whose record-breaking 1984 series reflects the Islamic school of thought, recently auctioned his piece entitled '' which is 115x115 cm for 425,000 liras.

The 20th contained 190 pieces of art representing Turkey's most recent contemporary and modern art. Erol Akyavaş's piece 'Vav' from his 1984 series reflecting Islamic philosophical thought sold for 425,000 liras.

Taner Ceylan's 2008 'Nirvana,' which depicts two men embracing covered in blood having reached Nirvana, and is 140x200 cm's in size, sold for 250,000. While one of Neşe Erdok's most significant masterpiece's, the 180x200 cm "Adahan Hotel" sold for 200,000 liras, Nedim Günsur's 114x162 cm 1985 masterpiece 'Rıhtım Street' found a buyer at 325,000 liras.
