U.S. CONSULATE HOSTS AN IFTAR FOR LOCALS IN THE CONSULATE GARDEN

İstinye residents displayed a lot of interest and flocked to the iftar held in the U.S. Consulate garden.Consul General Scott Kilner and his wife Jan Kilner expressed to those who attended how elated they were to be able to share a meal with their neighbors.

Kilner who was joined by Sarıyer Municipal Mayor Şükrü Genç in greeting the invitees, stated how impressed he was with the fasting tradition and stated, "This is a time to give thanks. We are extremely grateful for the neighborly relations you share with us as the U.S. Consulate. May Allah accept the fast you are upholding. I have great respect for those who are fasting," said Kilner.
